Elk kwaad van de mens komt voort uit zijn innerlijk en wordt door hemzelf veroorzaakt.
Dit zal de dwaas vermorzelen, zoals een harde steen een zachte steen vermaalt.
De mens kan alleen zelf meester over zichzelf zijn.
Wie anders zou meester over hem kunnen zijn?
Als de Meester en de dienaar dezelfde zijn, is er waarlijk dienstvaardigheid en bezit de mens zichzelf ten volle.
De kringloop van het bestaan leidt tot egoïsme en zelfzucht.
Streef daarom naar onthechting en zelfverloochening.
Laat ons leven in vreugde, zonder iets te bezitten.
Laat ons leven in vreugde, gedragen door het licht.
Bevrijd van alle begeerte naar geluk, zal de mens die zich heeft ontdaan van al het overbodige, blijven in die staat verkeren.
Laat ons leven vreugde en liefde zijn te midden van het die ons haten.
